Former Sweden striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has sent a passionate message to Argentina captain Lionel Messi after Spain’s World Cup triumph.

Messi, 39, failed to win the World Cup on Sunday after Argentina lost 1-0 against Spain in the final.

However, Ibrahimovic, who was messi’s former teammate at Barcelona, urged Messi to continue playing for the Argentina national team.

“I hope he can continue to play as much as possible, so we can enjoy him even more,” he said on Fox Sports.

“We’re grateful for his career and will miss him when he retires, though another World Cup remains uncertain.”
